The Brewery

Great beer starts with great raw ingredients, and we put a lot of time into selecting the finest hops, malts and yeasts to create our ales. We brew using soft mountain water drawn from Llyn Cwmystradllyn, a lake which sits high in the peaks of Snowdonia.

All of our beer is hand-made in small batches, which means we can ensure its quality and consistency. We typically produce around 180 firkins per week. Conscious of our carbon footprint, we recycle and reuse as much as we can. Spent brewing grains are used to feed local pigs and our waste hops are also recycled.

We usually have four beers on draught in our tap room (we rotate them according to what is brewing) as well as a full selection of our bottled beers. We also produce limited-edition seasonal ales at various times throughout the year.

Our first brews were produced in the middle of the Llyn countryside using restored brewing equipment in an old cow shed.

Tap Room

A warm welcome, great beer and engaging conversation – our tap room is like a window into the soul of Cwrw Llyn. And we mean that quite literally, because our tap room has a large viewing window into our brewery which means you can watch our hand-made ales come to life as you sup!

For when the weather is right we also have an outdoor seating terrace with wonderful views across to the Llyn’s ancient hillforts of Garn Boduan and Garn Fadryn. Our tap room is open for visitors every Monday to Saturday from 12 noon until 5pm, and available for private hire for evening events.
